"When Breast Cancer Invites Itself to Dinner"
In today's world so many of us have unfortunately been touched by breast cancer in one way or another. With a growing amount of studies that show how your diet can affect your health Chef Curtiss Hemm decided to help make it easier for us all to eat better. After his family was personally affected by breast cancer he took his love and knowledge for cooking and created an amazing foundation that "brings flavor, variety and simplicity to the fight against breast cancer". Enter Pink Ribbon Cooking.
Pink Ribbon Cooking LLC strives to educate people not only on how diet affects our health but also how to incorporate amazing, flavorful meals into your lifestyle. Members of Pink Ribbon Cooking gain knowledge of how food affects our bodies as well as access to recipes, videos and ebooks. With the belief that knowledge is power their website, cookbooks, and guiding philosophy is to give everyone the base with which to transform their diet and in-turn their lives.
While we of course wish that no one was affected by such a struggle the reality is that more and more people are. This is what brought to life our inaugural retreat: "When Breast Cancer Invites Itself to Dinner". Here you can spend the weekend with Chef Curtiss and leaders in the fight against breast cancer as they enlighten you about cooking techniques, recipes and their philosophy on how food can and does change your life.
The weekend is designed to be insightful, encouraging, and educational all while being surrounded by the beauty of the Adirondacks and the relaxing luxury of Mirror Lake Inn.
Some of the highlights of the weekend include:
A Pink Ribbon Cooking membership
Guest speakers including Dieticians, Survivors, Oncologits, and Holistic Care
Three course Pink Ribbon Cooking dinner in The View
Time to relax and enjoy the serenity of Mirror Lake Inn and the beauty that surrounds Lake Placid
So grab a friend or family member and join us for what will be a truly inspiring weekend.
